Abstract:

As one of the new approaches to educational management, resonant leadership, with its emphasis on emotional intelligence, empathy, trust, and effective human relations, plays an important role in improving the performance of educational organizations. Despite the importance of this leadership style, the lived experience of managers and teachers of its consequences has been less studied. Therefore, the present study aimed to explain the lived experience of managers and teachers of the consequences of resonant leadership in educational organizations. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach and interpretive phenomenological method. The participants included 16 people (8 managers and 8 teachers) from schools in Ardabil province who were selected purposefully. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method of Smith, Flowers, and Larkin. Lincoln and Guba criteria were also used to increase the validity of the findings. The results of data analysis led to the extraction of 180 primary codes, 40 concepts, 12 subcategories, and 5 main categories including individual, interpersonal, organizational, educational and professional, and strategic and developmental outcomes. The findings showed that resonant leadership increases motivation, job satisfaction, mental health, trust, empathy, cooperation, organizational commitment, improves school culture and climate, improves the quality of teaching and learning, teachers' professional development, empowers employees, increases organizational effectiveness, and is prepared for change. In summary, resonant leadership, as a human-centered and transformative approach, provides the basis for improving individual performance, improving relationships, organizational development, and increasing the quality of education, and can be considered by policymakers as an effective strategy in selecting, training, and empowering educational managers.
